Floresville Lions Club helps promote good vision

One of the main community service programs of Lions International is the collection of used eyeglasses.

Over the years, the Floresville Lions Club has turned thousands of pairs of used eyeglasses to the District 2-2A in order to get them in the hands of individuals who need them.

All eye glasses collected by the Floresville Lions are processed by local Lions prior to being sent to the district, where they are passed on and ultimately used to provide glasses for the needy. Lions clubs are well known for working to prevent blindness and providing other services to help the visually impaired. In addition to collecting, sorting, and distributing used eyeglasses, the Floresville Lions Club provides eye screenings by sponsoring the Mobile Eye Screening Unit (MESU). The MESU allows the Lions Club to provide free eye screenings for adults and children 6 months and up.

Donating your used prescription eyeglasses is one easy way that people can help in the project.
